“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
As women, we often carry a lot of worries and fears in our hearts. We worry about our families, jobs, health, and future. However, in John 14:27, Jesus reminds us we don’t have to carry those burdens alone. He offers us his peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding and comes from the very presence of God.
And unlike the world’s peace, which is often temporary and circumstantial, Jesus’s peace is everlasting and comes from a deep relationship with him. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we can experience this peace in our hearts, no matter our circumstances. And even during trials and difficulties, we can have confidence that Jesus is with us and that his peace will sustain us.
Also, it’s important to note that this peace does not mean we will never face challenges or difficulties. Instead, we can meet those challenges calmly and confidently, knowing that Jesus is with us and his peace will keep us. We can have hope and joy in even the most challenging circumstances.
So take heart and rest in the comforting promises of Jesus found in John 14:27 today.
Let’s Pray,
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your promise of peace that surpasses all understanding. We confess that we often carry a heavy burden of worries and fears. So we ask for Your forgiveness. Please strengthen us to leave all our troubles at Your feet. And help us to embrace Your peace which will unburden our hearts. And comes from a deep and abiding relationship with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
